Messi’s decisive goal helps Inter Miami secure 3-1 victory

Lionel Messi in Saturday made a triumphant return from injury, scoring a decisive goal in the 84th minute and providing an assist for Luis Suarez’s insurance tally in the 89th minute, leading Inter Miami to a 3-1 victory over LA Galaxy.
Messi, who had been sidelined with a hamstring strain since August 2, was introduced as a substitute in the second half and changed the game’s tempo with his presence.
Despite not being 100 per cent fit, Messi’s introduction sparked Inter Miami’s attack, and he scored a stunning goal, showcasing his skill and precision. Suarez’s goal sealed the win for Miami.
Jordi Alba opened the scoring for Miami in the 43rd minute, but Joseph Paintsil equalized for LA Galaxy in the 59th minute.
Messi’s goal in the 84th minute put Inter Miami ahead, and Suarez’s goal in the 89th minute made it 3-1.
With this goal, Messi now has 19 goals and 10 assists in 19 MLS appearances for Miami this season, making him the league’s top scorer.
Coach Mascherano described Messi’s injury as “something very small” and stated that the team would assess his fitness after the match.
Mascherano praised Messi, saying he’s an extraordinary player who always wants to be on the pitch. Despite not being fully fit, Messi loosened up as the game progressed.
Meanwhile , Inter Miami will face Tigres UANL in the Leagues Cup quarterfinal on August 20.
Inter Miami ranks fourth in the MLS Eastern Conference, six points behind leaders Philadelphia but with three matches in hand.
