Court convicts 3 more persons arrested at Obasanjo library complex
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of three more individuals arrested at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for internet fraud.
Vacation judge, Justice Deinde Dipeolu, at the Federal High Court, Lagos, convicted the defendants on Monday after they each pleaded guilty to the charge filed against them.
This brings the total number of persons convicted by the court to seven.
Adenekan Ayinde, Oyatokun Qudus, and Adisa Okikiade were convicted by Justice Deinde Dipeolu at the Federal High Court in Lagos after pleading guilty to charges filed against them.
The convicts were charged with impersonation and internet-related offenses, including holding themselves out as white women from the United States on social media platforms.
Adenekan Ayinde, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment with an option of a N300,000 fine.
He had restituted N200,000 to the victim of his crime and had an iPhone 14 Pro Max admitted as an exhibit.
Oyatokun Qudus, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment with an option of a N300,000 fine for impersonating “Eric Melissa” on Instagram.
Adisa Okikiade, was convicted with an option of a fine for impersonating “Anthony Krenn” on Google.
Recall that the EFCC arrested 93 suspected internet fraudsters during a sting operation on August 10, 2025, at a hotel within the OOPL complex where they were celebrating their exploits.
