D’Tigers coach praises team despite loss to Senegal

Despite losing to Senegal 91-75 in the quarterfinals of the FIBA Afrobasket Championship in Angola, D’Tigers coach Mohammed Abdulrahman expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance.
Abdulrahman acknowledged that his team fell short when it mattered most, but praised the players for their fight, attitude, and the identity they are building.
Abdulrahman expressed pride in his team’s performance, despite the loss, saying, “I am proud of how we played.
” We have an identity now and we will continue to build on it,” he said.
The coach acknowledged Senegal’s technical superiority on the night, saying they “deserved the win.”
Abdulrahman noted that his team failed to raise their game when it mattered most, which ultimately led to their defeat.
D’Tigers had a flawless group stage, recording three straight victories against Madagascar, Tunisia, and Cameroon.
-However, the team was knocked out of the tournament in the quarterfinals, losing to Senegal 91-75.
Despite the disappointment, Abdulrahman stressed that the tournament offered encouraging signs for the future, with the team closing their campaign with four games played and three wins in the group stage.
Abdulrahman emphasised that the team is building an identity and will continue to work on it.
