Katsina Mosque Attack: FG pledges to track down, prosecute perpetrators

The Federal Government has pledged to bring to justice those responsible for the recent killing of worshippers in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to the State official, the attack, which occurred on Tuesday, resulted in the deaths of at least 32 people, with reports suggesting that the bandits attacked to avenge their fallen comrades who had been ambushed by residents.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, in a statement, condemned the attack, describing it as “callous and barbaric”.
He assured that security forces were already on the trail of the criminals and vowed that “no stone will be left unturned until they are apprehended and held accountable for their actions”.
He assured that the government has promised swift and decisive justice, ensuring that such acts of terror would not be allowed to take root in the country.
President Bola Tinubu extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the community of Malumfashi, and the Katsina State Government.
“Their grief is our grief, and the Government stands with them at this dark hour.
”May the Almighty grant the departed eternal rest and console the bereaved with the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” the statement said.
The government highlighted recent successes in counter-terrorism operations, including the arrest of top terrorist leaders such as Mahmud al-Nigeri of the Mahmuda group and Mahmud Muhammad Usman (Abu Baraa) of the Ansaru group.
The arrests demonstrated the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring that those who shed innocent blood will find no hiding place in Nigeria.
