Senator Nwoko commissions solar-powered boreholes in Umunede, Idumuje Ugboko

Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North senatorial district, has commissioned solar-powered boreholes in Umunede and Idumuje Ugboko communities. .
The initiative aimed to provide clean and safe water to residents who have long struggled with water scarcity.

Community leaders and residents expressed gratitude to Senator Nwoko for providing clean water, with some noting that it has been a long-standing challenge.
Chief Amos Onyeagwu, Akinuwa of Umunede kingdom, said, “Water is life. Our problem has been water over the years. Today, water is now here with us through the efforts of our distinguished Senator.”
 Miss Augusta Agwumaro, an indigene of Umunede, said, “It has not been easy for us to get water over the years. I am here to appreciate Senator Nwoko for providing clean water for us.”
Senator Nwoko has also championed the near-completion of the Ogwashi-Uku Dam and secured funding for the Aniofu Dam in Aniocha North.
 The Senator is advocating for smart irrigation systems to boost farming and ensure food security in the region.
The commissioning of the solar-powered boreholes marked a significant milestone in Senator Nwoko’s efforts to transform lives in Delta North.
The project is expected to have a lasting impact on the communities, providing them with access to clean and safe water.
For years, residents of both communities faced severe challenges accessing potable water, which left them with the option of traveling long distances—up to 9 kilometers to Mbiri in the case of Umunede—to fetch water for domestic use.
