President Tinubu orders immediate security review in Katsina

President Bola Tinubu has directed an immediate review of security operations in Katsina State to strengthen the fight against banditry.
President Tinubu made this announcement while receiving a delegation of eminent citizens from Katsina led by Governor Dikko Radda at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday.
Tinubu ordered a thorough review of security operations in Katsina State, emphasising the need for daily feedback on security operations.
He said the country’s security challenges were surmountable but assured that the Federal Government was considering the establishment of state police and the upgrade of forest guards to reinforce grassroots security.
Tinubu stressed the need for security outfits that understand local terrain and culture, adding that daily feedback on security operations in the state must now be provided.
The President pledged to deploy advanced military hardware and surveillance gadgets to combat banditry.
Tinubu expressed support for the establishment of state police, citing the need for security outfits that understand local terrain and culture.
“The security challenges that we are facing are surmountable. I have today directed all the security agencies to energise further and look at the strategies.
”We have approved the additional acquisition of drones,” the President said.
He added that his administration was reviewing all aspects of security and would holistically consider creating state police.
Tinubu assured the Governor that the Federal Government will provide necessary support to address the state’s security challenges.
Tinubu also paid tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari, assuring that his legacy would be immortalized for posterity.
“He didn’t hand over a defeated country, a battered political structure, but a legacy of success,” the President noted.
Earlier, Governor Radda thanked the President for his support and requested additional assistance in security, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.
