Eid el Maulud: PDP governors urge government to address insecurity, poverty

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum has called on Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Maulud celebration to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, promote understanding, and foster harmony.
The Chairman of the Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, made the call in a statement issued by the forum’s Director General, Dr.  Emmanuel Agbo, in Abuja on Friday.
The governor emphasised the importance of reflecting on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, which illuminate the path of compassion, justice, and unity for millions worldwide.
Governor Mohammed urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from the Prophet’s legacy, promoting love, kindness, and unity among citizens.
His words: “His message of peace, tolerance, and service to humanity resonates deeply across all faiths and cultures.
”As we reflect on his legacy, may we be inspired to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, promote understanding, and work together toward a more harmonious society,” he said.
The PDP Governors’ Forum also urged the government to address pressing issues such as insecurity, hunger, poverty, and unemployment.
Governor Mohammed emphasised the need for public service with accountability, kindness, humility, and pursuit of truth to rebuild citizens’ faith in the country.
The governors extended warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to Muslims in Nigeria and globally, hoping their celebrations would be filled with joy, prayer, and meaningful connection with loved ones.
The message aligned with the party’s recent efforts to promote unity and stability in the country.
Meanwhile, the PDP governors expressed concerns that Nigeria was inching closer to full-blown dictatorship under the current administration, citing growing disconnection between citizens and basic services.
They called on the government to prioritise the welfare of citizens and ensure accountability in governance.
