Israeli military confirms Air strikes on Doha

The Israeli military has confirmed to AFP that it carried out air strikes on Doha, Qatar, targeting senior leaders of the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
The official said the operation, code-named “Summit of Fire,” was conducted jointly by the Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari stated that the attack posed a serious threat to the safety and security of Qataris and residents.
A senior Hamas official said the attack targeted a Hamas leadership delegation discussing a Gaza ceasefire proposal.
The group is yet to released an official statement on the fate of its leaders.
The United Nations and Arab League are expected to convene emergency meetings to discuss the strike.
Western allies, including the U.S., have not officially commented on the incident, although a White House official confirmed that Israel notified the U.S. about the strikes in advance.
The air strikes have raised concerns about the future of diplomacy in the region, with analysts warning that it has derailed any potential for a Gaza truce and hostage release deal.
The attack marked a significant escalation on the territory of a state that has been a driving force in ceasefire efforts.
