Niger Delta ex-agitators endorse Seriake Dickson for 2027 By Gabriel Ukuta

Yenagoa – The Niger Delta Ex-agitators Forum (Bayelsa West Phase 1, 2 & 3) has endorsed Senator Henry Seriake Dickson to return to the Senate in 2027, declaring him the unanimous choice of the Ijaw Nation and Bayelsa West people for continued quality representation.
In a statement signed by Generals Aso Tambo Kpala, Jerimiah Timothy VIP, Alhaji Letugbene, Stephen Okiemo, Dengo Benin, Gowon Abenzi, Ebide Brown, and Julius Belemu, the ex-agitators commended Senator Dickson for his “relentless, fearless and courageous” leadership, both in Bayelsa West and nationally.
The forum praised Dickson for standing firm on issues of democracy and governance, citing his strong condemnation of the political crisis in Rivers State involving Governor Sim Fubara, as well as his defense of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan during her controversial suspension from the Senate.
“Senator Seriake Dickson has shown that he is capable of speaking truth to power, even at personal risk.
“He remains the best choice for the people of Bayelsa West, the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta, and ordinary Nigerians who desire quality leadership, ” the statement read.
The group likened Dickson, fondly called Ofurumapepe, to the late Ijaw national leader, Pa Edwin Clark, insisting that he has stepped into Clark’s shoes as a defender of the Ijaw cause.
While addressing growing calls for zoning the Senate seat to Ekeremor in 2027, the Forum dismissed such agitations as divisive.
They emphasised that zoning had no place in modern politics and warned against attempts by “selfish politicians sponsored by APC leaders in Abuja” to destabilise Bayelsa West.
“The fight against Senator Dickson is a fight against the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta, and lovers of democracy across the country. It is a fight they cannot win,” the Forum declared.
They called on elders, youths, women, and stakeholders across Sagbama and Ekeremor local government areas to shun propaganda and unite behind Dickson in 2027.
“By the grace of God Almighty, he will return to the Red Chambers,” the ex-agitators affirmed.
