Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has returned to her office at the National Assembly six months after being suspended by the Senate leadership.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed gratitude to Nigerians who stood by her during the period of suspension, including senior citizens like Atiku Abubakar and Senator Bukola Saraki.
Her words: “For me, I am glad to be here,” she said in her office for the first time in six months.
“Even though we had been illegally suspended, no day have I hesitated in effectively carrying out my duties as the senator of Kogi Central to the very best of my capacity,” she said in her office for the first time in six months,” the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator added.
Despite the suspension, she emphasised her commitment to carrying out her duties as senator for Kogi Central.
The suspension, which began on March 6, 2025, was over alleged violations of the Senate’s standing rules.

The case was instituted on behalf of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she owes no apology to the Senate leadership for her actions, adding that she won’t apologize for the injustice meted out to her.
Although the Senate is currently on recess and is expected to resume plenary on October 7, 2025.
