CBN Governor leads delegation to World Bank-IMF meeting

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, will lead the country’s delegation to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meeting in Washington DC.
The meeting is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 13.
According to a statement by President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the Nigerian team will also comprise the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anete.
”Cardoso will replace the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who is indisposed, as the alternate Governor.”
The World Bank has outlined key elements of the annual meetings, which include development committee plenary session on October 16, international monetary and financial committee meetings on October 17, regional briefings press conferences, fora focused on international development, the global economy, and financial markets
The meetings would provide a platform for global leaders and policymakers to discuss pressing economic issues and shape the future of the global economy.
