Delta speaker applauds Warri-Sapele-Benin road project

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dennis Guwor, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for prioritising the reconstruction of the Warri-Sapele-Benin Dual Carriageway, describing it as a transformative project for the state.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Nkem Nwaeke, following the official flag-off on Tuesda, Guwor said the project would significantly improve economic activity, security, and mobility for Deltans and residents alike.
“The deplorable condition of the Warri-Sapele-Benin road has been a nightmare for motorists. The decision to embark on its reconstruction is a bold and commendable step,” the Speaker said.
Guwor highlighted other key infrastructure initiatives underway, including flyover projects in Effurun and Warri, noting that these developments reflected Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to enhancing the state’s infrastructure and economic landscape.
He also praised the governor’s collaboration with the federal government, stating that such partnerships are crucial to accelerating sustainable development in Delta.
The speaker charged contractors to deliver high-quality work in line with international standards and to ensure timely completion across all three senatorial districts.
“As National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Assemblies, I understand the importance of infrastructure in improving lives and unlocking economic growth,” Guwor stated.
He assured the governor and the public that the Assembly would continue to provide legislative backing and effective oversight to ensure the success of all ongoing projects.
Guwor reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to partnering with the executive to drive progress and urged citizens to support the “Renewed Hope for More” agenda of both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori.
