Hon. Kalu mourns with Mayor Igbokwe over mother’s passing

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has commiserated with Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), Chairman of Don Media Group, over the death of his mother and family matriarch, Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe.

In a condolence message to Mayor Igbokwe and his family in Umuahia, Abia State, Rt. Hon. Kalu described the late Dame Peace as, “An extraordinary woman whose influence reached far beyond her home.”

He extolled her virtues of leadership, faith, and compassion, noting that her impact was felt not only within her family but across the wider community.

His words: “Her leadership was purposeful, her vision inspiring, and her humanity deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

“We can boldly testify that she lived a life of service, nurturing others while pursuing excellence with grace and strength, ” he said.

Kalu noted that her passing was a painful loss not only to the Igbokwe family but also to the entire Umuawa Alaocha community and beyond, where she was known for her generosity, wisdom, and commitment to uplifting others.

He further said, “In moments like these, words can scarcely convey the depth of loss.

“Yet, may you and your family find solace in the love she cultivated, the lives she touched, and the profound impact she made as a pillar of strength and inspiration within Umuahia and beyond, ” he added.

The Deputy Speaker prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved family and eternal rest for the departed matriarch.

“May the Almighty God grant you and your family peace and comfort during this period of mourning and may her soul rest in eternal peace, ” he also said.
