15 Years On Stage: Eboh Bomb set to celebrate comedy milestone

It will be a night of laughter, music, and nostalgia as popular Nigerian comedian, Michael Oghenerukevwe Eboh, better known as Eboh Bomb, marks his 15th anniversary on stage.
The celebration, tagged “Eboh Bomb Live: 15 Years On Stage,” is scheduled to hold on October 26, 2025, at the newly renovated Zigi Lagos Lounge, located at Zukada Close, off Shasha, Akowonjo, Lagos. The event kicks off at 5 p.m.
Reflecting on his journey, Eboh Bomb described the milestone as one of perseverance, growth, and gratitude.
“Why am I celebrating my 15 years on stage as a stand-up comedian? It has been 15 years of ups and downs, but we’re still standing strong,” he said in a statement released by his management team.
Eboh Bomb’s comedy journey began 15 years ago after he emerged winner of AY’s comedy talent hunt competition, organised by top comedian Ayo Makun (AY).
That victory launched him into the national spotlight and opened doors to performances at high-profile shows, including AY Live.
Since then, Eboh Bomb has gone on to host several successful shows, including his debut solo event, “Explosives,” in 2019 at Festac, Lagos, followed by another edition in 2021 in Benin City, Edo State, and a second Lagos edition in 2024.
Beyond laughter, Eboh Bomb emphasised his commitment to using comedy as a tool for social change.
“I am a professional comedian in the business of making people happy through creative jokes on stage, TV, and online.
”But while making people laugh, I also correct societal ills. When I joke about Nigerian landlords, for instance, people laugh, but they also learn something about responsibility and fairness,” he said.
The 15th anniversary event promises to be a star-studded affair, featuring performances from some of Nigeria’s finest entertainers across generations.
The lineup includes Danfo Drivers, Konga, Lyta, African China, Mr. Dolor who recently broke the Guinness World Record for the longest comedy performance (60 hours non-stop)—and several other top acts.
Eboh Bomb also hinted that his mentor AY and industry pioneer Ali Baba, whom he fondly describes as a father figure to younger comedians, are expected to grace the occasion.
“My boss AY has promised to show love, and Ali Baba, who has always supported us younger comedians, will likely turn up for me.
”October 26 will be a day to remember, not only in Lagos but across Nigeria,” he said.
The event will also serve as the first major show to be hosted by the newly renovated Zigi Lagos Lounge, which Eboh Bomb described as “one of the best lounges, restaurants, hotels, and event spaces on the Lagos mainland.”
Sponsorship interest, according to the comedian, has been encouraging.
“Zigi Lagos Lounge is our main partner, and several other sponsors are already on board.
”But we are still open to more corporate brands and supporters who wish to join us,” he added.
As preparations intensify, fans and industry colleagues alike are gearing up for what promises to be a memorable night celebrating 15 years of laughter, resilience, and impact in Nigerian comedy.
