Osinbajo, Sanusi, Otti, others to convene in Abuja for leadership conference

Nigeria’s political, business, and traditional leadership spheres are set to converge in Abuja next Tuesday for a high-level leadership conference aimed at fostering strategic dialogue and promoting effective governance.
The event, organised by the Oxford Global Think Tank (OGTT), will bring together former Vice-President Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and a host of national figures including Governor Alex Otti (Abia), Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and business magnate Atedo Peterside.
According to Williams Eze, OGTT’s Conference Programme Manager, the gathering is themed “Better Leadership for a Better Nigeria” and coincides with Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.
”The goal is to provide a platform for introspection and action-oriented discussions on leadership challenges facing the country.
“Over the years, Nigeria has faced governance hurdles that demand innovative and inclusive leadership. This conference is designed to spark conversation and collaborative solutions that can drive national renewal,” Eze said.
The conference will focus on four key thematic pillars:
1. Public Policy and Inclusive Governance – Strategies for transparent, accountable governance.
2. Economic Transformation through Business Leadership – Exploring the role of private sector innovation in national growth.
3. Technology and Entrepreneurship – Harnessing modern tools to empower communities and youth.
4. Intergenerational Transition – Preparing the next generation for leadership and public service.
In addition to high-level panel discussions, the event will also host the release of OGTT’s inaugural report on African minerals, titled RAMP Africa: Reforming African Minerals to Prosper Africa.
OGTT Founder Ms. Arunma Oteh will also present her recently published book, All Hands-on Deck: Unleash Prosperity through World Class Capital Markets.
Attendees will include former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Anyim Pius Anyim, former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, and leading CEOs and innovators such as Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Abubakar Suleiman, Leo Ekeh, and Gbenga Agboola.
Eze added that the conference will feature a curated art exhibition on leadership, blending visual and audio presentations with discussions on governance, entrepreneurship, and societal transformation.
The OGTT anticipates that the event will provide a rare opportunity for cross-sector dialogue, enabling leaders, policymakers, and innovators to coalesce around actionable ideas for Nigeria’s future.
