PDP schedules screening of aspirants ahead of national convention

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that the screening of aspirants for various national positions in the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

This was disclosed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, who serves as Chairman of the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC), in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.

The screening will be held at the NCOC Secretariat Conference Hall, Legacy House, Maitama, commencing at 2:00 pm.

Governor Fintiri also confirmed that the screening of the Appeal Committee is scheduled for Thursday, October 30.

Party members and aspirants have been directed to complete the submission of expression of interest and nomination forms by Monday, October 27, to the NCOC Secretariat.

“All aspirants, critical stakeholders, and party members should take note of these dates and be guided accordingly,” Fintiri said, emphasising the importance of timely compliance to ensure smooth proceedings.

The PDP National Convention itself is slated to hold on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, where elected delegates will participate in the final selection of national officers.

The convention is expected to attract significant attention, as it will determine the party’s leadership structure ahead of upcoming political activities.

The NCOC has assured aspirants that all procedures will be conducted transparently and in accordance with party guidelines, reinforcing PDP’s commitment to internal democracy.
