Oborevwori hails Ochei’s election as Nigeria Tennis Federation president

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, has congratulated Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei on his election as President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), describing the victory as well-deserved and a reflection of his steadfast dedication to sports development in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor commended Ochei, a former Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly, philanthropist, and passionate promoter of grassroots sports, for his long-standing commitment to advancing tennis and other sporting disciplines across the country.

Oborevwori said Ochei’s emergence as NTF President demonstrated the trust and confidence reposed in him by tennis stakeholders, citing his consistent efforts in promoting inclusivity and professionalism within the sporting community.

“Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei has, over the years, shown exceptional dedication to grassroots sports, particularly through his sponsorship of wheelchair basketball and the Davnotch National Tennis Open Championship.

”His election as President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation is a recognition of his steadfast service to the sporting community,” the Governor stated.

The Governor expressed optimism that Ochei’s tenure would mark a new era for Nigerian tennis, noting that his wealth of experience, leadership skills, and global exposure would help reposition the sport for greater international recognition.

“With Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei at the helm of affairs, I have no doubt that Nigerian tennis is on the path to renewed glory,” Oborevwori added.

He also urged the new NTF President to sustain his passion for talent discovery and capacity building, ensuring that young players across the nation have access to better training opportunities and facilities.
