INEC extends PVC collection in Anambra to Nov. 2
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the period for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State to November 2, 2025, to give more eligible voters the opportunity to obtain their cards ahead of the upcoming governorship election.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Awka by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, the state’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity.
Eta-Messi explained that the decision followed numerous appeals from residents and political stakeholders urging the Commission to allow additional time for PVC collection.
“The Commission has approved the extension of the ongoing collection of PVCs in Anambra from October 29 to November 2,” she said.
“This extension is to ensure that all registered voters who have not yet collected their cards can do so before the governorship election.”
She urged registered voters to make full use of the extension period and visit their designated collection centres located in all 326 Registration Areas (Wards) across the state.
Eta-Messi also noted that the exercise covers individuals who participated in the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) conducted by INEC, adding that collection must be done in person, as no proxy collection will be permitted.
The Anambra State governorship election has been scheduled to hold on November 8, 2025.
