NDDC MD denies reports linking governor to rumoured arrest

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has refuted media reports suggesting that his rumored arrest was connected to Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
In a statement issued by his Senior Advocate on Media, Willie Etim, Dr. Ogbuku described the reports, which were attributed to a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as misleading, mischievous, and entirely unfounded.
The statement stressed that there is no political rivalry or tension between Dr. Ogbuku and Governor Diri, countering insinuations made in the media about a supposed fallout.
Etim also clarified that any opinions expressed by individuals on political matters in Bayelsa State should be regarded as strictly personal views and do not reflect the official position of Dr. Ogbuku.
Attempts to link the Governor to political controversies or rumors regarding Dr. Ogbuku’s alleged arrest were described as unnecessary and capable of misrepresenting facts.
The statement also tendered formal apology to Governor Diri for any embarrassment or misunderstanding caused by the publications, urging all party faithful and commentators to exercise restraint in public discussions, particularly on sensitive political matters.
By issuing the clarification, Dr. Ogbuku and the NDDC leadership aim to put an end to misinformation and reaffirm their commitment to unity within the APC family in Bayelsa State.
