Dangote refinery pledges steady supply of petrol, diesel nationwide

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reaffirmed its commitment to providing a steady and uninterrupted supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) across Nigeria.
Since beginning petrol production in September 2024, the refinery has played a key role in stabilising prices, reducing fuel scarcity, and easing consumer burden.
Chief Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, said the refinery currently loads over 45 million litres of PMS and 25 million litres of diesel daily, exceeding national demand.
Chief Chiejina also noted that operations were conducted in collaboration with regulatory agencies and distribution partners to ensure efficient nationwide delivery.
Chiejina further highlighted that this increased local production supports the naira, reduces foreign exchange outflows, and strengthens the economy.
He defended the recently announced tariff policy, stating it protects domestic industries from unfair competition and encourages investment in local refining and downstream oil sectors.
He also warned that failure to protect local industries could result in large-scale dumping of petroleum products, undermining domestic production and industrial growth.
President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, assured Nigerians that fuel prices will remain stable during the festive season.
Dangote cited that the average price of PMS dropped from around N1,030 per litre in September 2024 to between N841 and N851 per litre in September 2025. Similarly, diesel prices have decreased from an average of N1,400–N1,700 per litre in 2024 to about N1,020 per litre in 2025.
The refinery, commissioned in May 2023, aims to reduce reliance on imports, improve supply chain stability, and alleviate pressure on foreign exchange reserves.
Dangote officials stressed that local refiners and allied industries benefit from the new policies, which strengthen Nigeria’s industrial base and create jobs, while supporting national energy security and consumer confidence.
Chiejina commended President Bola Tinubu’s leadership for policies that promote a business-friendly environment, enhance energy security, and encourage industrial growth.
He urged industry stakeholders to act with patriotism and support local production for sustainable economic development.
