PDP State chairmen endorse fractional acting national chairman Abdulrahman Muhammad, BoT chairman

A coalition of state chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally expressed their support for the party’s fractional acting National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Muhammad, and Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT).
The endorsement was communicated in a statement delivered by suspended
Imo State PDP Chairman, Austine Nwachukwu, in Abuja on Wednesday.
Nwachukwu described Muhammad and Ohuabunwa as leaders who embody democratic principles, institutional memory, and a unifying vision for the party.
“We have absolute confidence in their leadership, experience, and integrity to guide the PDP through this period of renewal and organisational restructuring,” Nwachukwu stated.
The state chairmen also highlighted that under their leadership, the PDP would be better positioned to restore public trust, strengthen internal reconciliation, and re-establish itself as a credible defender of democracy in Nigeria.
Nwachukwu urged all members from grassroots levels to the national leadership to set aside personal ambitions, work collaboratively, and focus on rebuilding the party.
He further stressed that the collective commitment of the state chairmen aims to ensure the PDP emerges stronger, more united, and fully aligned with the aspirations of Nigerians.
“As custodians of the PDP’s founding ideals democracy, justice, equity, and inclusiveness.
”It is our responsibility to ensure the party not only survives its current challenges but thrives as Nigeria’s foremost political platform,” he said.
The statement also reaffirmed the chairmen’s dedication to upholding the rule of law, internal democracy, and the party’s constitutional provisions as fundamental to maintaining the PDP’s credibility and long-term sustainability.
