Ani-Ndokwa clans association appoints Rear Admiral Onah (rtd.) as patron

The Ani-Ndokwa Clans Association (ANCA) has named retired naval officer Rear Admiral Mike Ojinika Onah as Patron of the body during a courtesy visit to his Utagba-Uno residence in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta.
The delegation, led by the President-General of the association, Prince Igwe Nzekwe, described the appointment as a tribute to Admiral Onah’s integrity, exemplary public service, and longstanding commitment to the advancement of the Ndokwa nation.
ANCA represents 37 clans drawn from Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, and Ukwuani Local Government Areas.
The association was formed to promote unity among the clans, nurture cultural cohesion, and strengthen collaboration for regional development.
Addressing members during the visit, Prince Nzekwe said Admiral Onah’s reputation for discipline and community service made him a natural choice for the role.
He expressed confidence that the association’s relationship with the retired naval chief would energize ANCA’s development agenda across Ndokwa communities.
In his remarks, Admiral Onah thanked the association for the honour and called on all Presidents-General of Ndokwa clans to adopt proactive strategies for securing a more prosperous future for the region.
He urged ANCA to take the lead in guiding youths toward positive engagement, respect for constituted authority, and responsible use of social media, not as a tool for attacking leaders, but as a platform for education and progress.
The retired Admiral also commended Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme for what he described as meaningful infrastructural interventions in Ndokwa land.
Among the projects he highlighted were the newly inaugurated Delta State Free Trade Zone, the ongoing Utagba-Uno–Ndemili Road project, and the Akarai-Aboh Road, all of which he said were opening new opportunities for residents.
Several dignitaries who accompanied the ANCA delegation delivered goodwill messages. The Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Council, Hon. Possible Ajede; the Governor’s Special Adviser on Livestock and Inter-Ethnic Matters, Chief Jeffrey Asagba; and political leader Dr. Gabriel Amuchi all praised the choice of Admiral Onah. They described the honour as both fitting and timely, adding that his guidance would further strengthen ANCA’s mission to drive sustainable development throughout the Ndokwa nation.
