Social media personalities removed from United Nigeria Airlines flight following onboard altercation

A tense situation unfolded at Asaba International Airport on Monday morning as two social media influencers engaged in a physical confrontation during the boarding process of United Nigeria Airlines Flight UN0523.
The passengers involved were identified as Martins Vincent Otse, widely known by his online handle VeryDarkMan, and comedian Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly referred to as Mr. Jollof.
Witnesses reported that the altercation disrupted boarding, forcing airline staff to step in to prevent the incident from escalating further.
United Nigeria Airlines, in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, confirmed that both the cabin crew and ground personnel acted swiftly and professionally to restore order.
The airline highlighted that its team adhered to international aviation safety protocols while managing the confrontation.
“Immediate intervention was necessary to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew onboard. The individuals involved were promptly removed from the aircraft,” Uloka stated.
He also emphasised that the airline maintains a zero-tolerance policy for behaviour that compromises the safety and comfort of travellers.
No further details have been provided regarding subsequent investigations or disciplinary actions, but the airline assured the public that safety and operational integrity remain its top priority.
The incident has since attracted widespread attention on social media, with many questioning the behaviour of influencers in public spaces and calling for accountability.
