Fubara declares Rivers a prime destination for energy investment

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, has described the state as a safe haven for investments in the oil and gas sector, highlighting its strategic importance to Nigeria’s economy.
Speaking at an oil and gas summit in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, and represented by Secretary to the State Government Dr. Benibo Anabraba, Fubara said Rivers’ economic development is closely tied to the growth of the hydrocarbon industry.
“Our state is the centre of Nigeria’s oil and gas resources, which generate over 40 per cent of the nation’s revenue,” he noted.
The governor emphasised that his administration continues to collaborate with the Federal Government, host communities, and security agencies to protect national assets and encourage strategic investments.
Fubara expressed confidence that Rivers State’s conducive environment and collaboration with key stakeholders will continue to attract both national and multinational companies to the sector.
The summit, organised by Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Ozu, founder of the Nigeria and Entrepreneurship Summit and Honours Foundation, provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss best practices and align local industry standards with global benchmarks.
