Nigerian troops rescue 5 kidnap victims in Kogi State

Troops from the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued five individuals kidnapped in separate incidents in the Isanlu–Egbe General Area of Yagba East Local Government Area.
The victims, four civilians in the first attack and one in a second, were freed unharmed following rapid military interventions on Saturday.
According to military sources, troops responded immediately after receiving reports of the abductions, deploying superior firepower in coordinated operations that forced the armed bandits to flee in disarray, leaving their captives behind.
Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, leading the 12 Brigade, reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Kogi State.
He stated that troops will maintain a strong presence through continuous patrols to prevent further criminal activities.
The incidents highlighted ongoing security challenges in the region, which has experienced a resurgence of kidnapping in recent months.
