Wike sacks acting chairman of FCT internal revenue service

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Michael Ango.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the most senior official within the FCT-IRS has been instructed to immediately assume leadership of the agency in an acting capacity.
While announcing the decision, the minister did not provide any explanation for Ango’s removal, leaving the reason for the shake-up unclear.
The move adds to a series of recent administrative decisions taken by Wike as he continues restructuring key institutions within the FCT.
