Delta Police arrest robbery suspect, recover firearms

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a robbery suspect in Abraka Community, in the Ethiope East Local Government Area, and recovered firearms and ammunition during a targeted operation.
The Command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Saturday in Warri.
According to Edafe, the suspect was apprehended by operatives of the Command’s Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) in a coordinated operation led by ASP Julius Robinson.
He explained that the operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts by the Delta Police to curb cult-related violence and the illegal possession of firearms in the state.
“Acting on credible intelligence, our operatives conducted a search at No. 2, Umeghe Street, Abraka.
The search led to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of two pump-action guns along with 39 live cartridges,” Edafe stated.
The spokesman added that the suspect is currently in police custody, while investigations continue to unravel further details of the case.
This arrest highlights the Delta Police Command’s continued commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring public safety across the state.
