FG, Northern leaders doing their utmost to curb insecurity – Gov. SuleNasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has assured Nigerians that the Federal Government, along with northern political leaders, is fully committed to addressing the persistent insecurity affecting the region.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, Governor Sule emphasised that claims suggesting leaders are indifferent or inactive in tackling insecurity are misleading.

“The Northern leaders are doing their best, the Federal Government is doing their best, and we continue to explore ways to do even more,” he said, acknowledging the persistent attacks by non-state actors across northern Nigeria.

Governor Sule also hailed the efforts that led to the release of 100 abducted students from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Niger State, describing the development as “cheering news.”

He commended the coordinated work of security agencies that facilitated the successful rescue.

Highlighting the evolving nature of insecurity, Sule noted that while violent incidents were historically concentrated in the North East, recent attacks have spread to the North West and North Central regions.

He added that kidnappers sometimes target children as shields, complicating rescue operations.

“Every day we receive updates from security agencies. Sometimes the situation seems calm in the morning, but incidents occur overnight.

”Yet, we persist, and we secure the release of those affected,” the governor said, reflecting on the challenges faced by authorities.

Governor Sule reiterated the commitment of northern leaders and the Federal Government to continue combating insecurity and ensuring the safety of citizens.
