Sanwo-Olu inaugurates TY Danjuma’s 29,000-Sqm logistics park, boosting regional trade

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, has inaugurated the TY Logistics Park Free Zone Enterprise (FZE) on Monday, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s logistics and trade infrastructure.

The state-of-the-art facility spans 29,000 square metres across two world-class warehouses and aims to enhance supply chain efficiency both locally and across West Africa.

The governor described the project as the realisation of a long-term vision by TY Holdings’ Chairman, retired Gen. T.Y. Danjuma, to elevate Nigeria’s logistics competitiveness and support regional trade.

“Today, we witness the culmination of a bold vision with two modern facilities offering premium free zone space.

”This park is designed to redefine how goods move across Nigeria and the West African region,” Sanwo-Olu said during the inauguration.

The logistics park provides comprehensive services to medium and large-scale businesses across multiple sectors, including fast-moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, electronics, automotive parts, fashion, and other high-velocity industries.

Services include clearing and forwarding, compliance management, import and export processing, complex inventory management, value-added services, and route-to-market distribution.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted the park’s digital ecosystem, which integrates global-standard systems and fully digitised workflows to offer clients real-time stock control, error-free order processing, and total supply chain visibility—particularly crucial for products with shelf-life sensitivity.

Strategically located just 20 minutes from Lekki Deep Seaport, the facility is well-positioned to facilitate seamless import and export operations, duty deferment, tax optimization, and access to West African markets.

The governor noted that the park was intentionally designed to operate as an extension of client businesses, allowing companies to focus on growth, brand expansion, and market penetration while TY Logistics manages operational complexities.

“The TY Logistics Park exemplifies Africa’s growing ability to deliver modern and globally competitive economic infrastructure.

”This project advances our shared vision of building efficient, modern economic zones that unlock Africa’s economic potential,” he said.

TY Logistics Park Chairman, Theophilus Danjuma Jr., emphasised that the facility is the product of four years of planning and investment.

He described the warehouses as strategically designed to support high-volume industries while creating a modern logistics backbone for the region.

“We see ourselves not just as a logistics provider but as an extension of our clients’ business.

”Our mission is to handle logistical challenges so our clients can focus on expanding operations, strengthening their brand, and increasing market share,” Danjuma said.

The inauguration attracted senior government officials, traditional rulers from Lagos, Taraba, and Gombe states, and private sector stakeholders, underlining the strong collaboration between Alaro City and TY Logistics in delivering a nationally significant infrastructure project.

The event signaled a major step in reinforcing Nigeria’s logistics architecture, providing businesses with efficiency, transparency, and scalability, while bolstering the country’s position as a regional trade hub.
