President Tinubu felicitates Akpabio, Gen. Danjuma on birthdays

President Bola Tinubu has sent heartfelt felicitations to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and retired Lt. General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, in honour of their birthdays, commending their service and contributions to the nation.

In a statement released on Tuesday, President Tinubu described Senator Akpabio, who turns 63, as a devoted public servant and patriot whose leadership has left an enduring impact on Nigeria’s development.

Highlighting his tenure as a two-term Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Tinubu noted that Akpabio transformed the state’s infrastructure, boosted economic competitiveness, and constructed one of the country’s most notable stadia, which continues to stand as a testament to his vision.

“Senator Akpabio’s dedication to the people of Akwa Ibom and Nigeria at large is exemplary,” the President said.

“From his time in the state government to his service as Minister of the Niger Delta and now as Senate President, he has consistently worked to promote national development, peace, and cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government.”

The President praised Akpabio’s resilience and unwavering commitment to national progress, wishing him many more years of good health, strength, and impactful leadership.

On the same day, President Tinubu also congratulated General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd) on his 88th birthday, lauding him as a distinguished statesman and soldier whose loyalty and courage shaped Nigeria during critical periods of its history.

Tinubu recounted Danjuma’s service during times of national uncertainty, emphasizing his role in fostering unity and stability.

Beyond his military and governmental service, the President highlighted Danjuma’s philanthropic contributions through the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation, which has supported numerous families across the country, providing opportunities and dignity to those in need.

Tinubu described General Danjuma as an elder statesman whose life of purpose and integrity continues to inspire current and future generations of Nigerians.

“General Danjuma’s impact extends beyond his military service,” the President said.

“Through his foundation, he has created a lasting legacy of humanitarian support, and his guidance has influenced leaders, including myself, in navigating the challenges of national governance.”

President Tinubu prayed for continued health, strength, and peace for both leaders, expressing confidence that they would continue to make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s growth and stability.
