Bishop Oyedepo rejects political ambitions, even for $1bn

Bishop David Oyedepo, the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, has reaffirmed his steadfast refusal to enter politics, declaring that not even a $1 billion offer could sway him from his spiritual calling.

His remarks came during the Day 5 impartation service of the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025, held at Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

Reflecting on the prophetic warnings he issued a decade ago, Oyedepo reminded congregants of the turbulent times he had foreseen.

“In 2015, I warned the church that trouble was coming. Didn’t trouble come? If you gave me 1 billion dollars, I would not even go near politics. It is off my calling.

”Those who are not called there will lose their dignity and respect. They will lose everything,” he said.

The cleric urged church members to dedicate themselves to their divine calling, emphasising that fulfillment and influence come from pursuing God’s purpose rather than worldly ambitions.

He said, “It is in your area of calling that you can rule your world and be enlisted in the end-time army of God.”

Bishop Oyedepo also addressed the urgency of the current times, highlighting the world’s desperate need for divine intervention.

Citing Romans 8:19, he remarked, “The world is groaning in darkness, but as embedded in Romans 8:19, the world is waiting for the earnest manifestations of the children of God.

”The army of God is about to emerge to proffer solutions to national crises in the order of Joseph and Daniel. It is the day of what eyes have not seen or ears heard.”

Shiloh 2025, which began on December 9 and was conclude on December 14, 2025.

The event brought together worshippers for a week of spiritual teachings, impartation, and fellowship, underscoring the church’s commitment to preparing believers for impactful lives in alignment with their divine callings.

Oyedepo’s comments reiterate his long-standing stance that political office is incompatible with his spiritual mission and serve as a reminder for believers to focus on God’s calling rather than the lure of wealth or status.
