Vice President Shettima reaffirms Tinubu administration’s commitment to NIPSS transformation

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated the Federal Government’s determination to transform the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) into a digitally driven, financially stable, and globally recognised centre of excellence by 2030.
He made the declaration while representing President Bola Tinubu at the graduation ceremony of Senior Executive Course (SEC) 47 in Kuru, on Saturday Plateau State.
Shettima described NIPSS as a strategic platform for nurturing thinkers, reformers, and innovators, noting that the Senior Executive Course is a deliberate investment in Nigeria’s future leadership.

Applauding the SEC 47 theme, “Blue Economy and Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” Shettima highlighted the importance of linking security, environmental stewardship, social inclusion, and development.
He noted that research from the course contributed to national insights on maritime security, livelihoods, food security, environmental protection, and community cohesion.
The Vice President assured that the Tinubu administration takes evidence-based policymaking seriously, directing relevant ministries and agencies to give the SEC 47 reports and recommendations the attention they deserve for both immediate application and long-term strategic planning.
Shettima also inaugurated four 2-bedroom apartments built and donated to the institute by SEC 47 participants and interacted with strawberry farmers in Plateau State
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, NIPSS Board Chairman Senator Ken Nnamani, and NIPSS Director General Professor Ayo Omotayo praised the Federal Government’s support.
They highlighted the institute’s achievements in policy research, crisis anticipation, and adaptive governance.
Graduands were formally presented with certificates and inducted into the NIPSS Alumni Association (AANI), pledging their commitment to national service.
