Ebonyi police officer slumps, dies during official meeting

A senior police officer with the Ebonyi State Police Command, Ogbon-inu Taiwo, has died after developing breathing difficulties during an official meeting in Abakaliki.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at the office of the Commissioner of Police, where a management meeting was underway.
According to police sources, Taiwo suddenly began gasping for breath at about 10:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response from colleagues.
He was rushed to the Police Medical Centre at the command’s headquarters in Abakaliki, where medical personnel attempted to revive him. Despite their efforts, the officer was later pronounced dead.
The Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu, who described the deceased as a committed and professional officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with dedication.
Until his death, Taiwo held the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Intelligence Department (SID).
The command expressed its condolences to the family of the late officer, describing his passing as a painful and irreparable loss.
