Oborevwori urges Deltans to embrace love, unity, Christ-like values

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, has called on residents to use the Christmas season as a time to reflect on love, unity, and the principles of Christ-like living, emphasising that these values are essential for peace and sustainable development in the state.
In a message shared through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori urged citizens to remember the importance of sacrifice, compassion, and service to others, encouraging everyone to work together to build a harmonious and prosperous society.
The governor commended Deltans for their resilience and support for his administration, noting that their cooperation has contributed significantly to the progress achieved so far.
He described the festive season as an opportunity to give thanks, renew hope, and reaffirm commitment to collective growth.
Highlighting key achievements over the past two years, Oborevwori pointed to improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth empowerment, and security.
He specifically mentioned ongoing road and flyover projects, upgraded healthcare facilities, and programmes focused on human capital development as examples of the administration’s dedication to improving the quality of life for all residents.
The governor also acknowledged the impact of social intervention programs, peacebuilding efforts, and welfare initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including women, widows, and youths.
He noted that these efforts have strengthened social cohesion and boosted local economic activity.
Looking forward, Oborevwori said the 2026 Delta State budget has been designed to further enhance living standards, prioritising infrastructure development, job creation, education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
He stressed that these plans are aimed at ensuring that no community is left behind in the state’s development agenda.
The governor called on citizens to continue supporting government initiatives while promoting peace, tolerance, and unity, stressing that shared responsibility is key to achieving lasting progress.
Oborevwori extended heartfelt wishes for a joyful Christmas and a prosperous New Year, expressing confidence that Delta State would continue to experience growth and expanded opportunities.
“As we celebrate the birth of our Lord, let us embrace hope and work together to create a brighter, more prosperous future for Delta State,” he said.
