Tinubu arrives Abu Dhabi for sustainability summit

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday night to participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit.
His official aircraft, Nigeria Air Force One, touched down around 11:30 p.m. UAE time, where he was received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The President, who spent part of his Yuletide vacation in Paris, departed Lagos on December 28 and accepted an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to attend the week-long global summit.
ADSW 2026 brings together world leaders from government, business, and civil society to discuss sustainable development. Under the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” this year’s forum focuses on linking ambition with action across innovation, finance, and human capital.
The summit is expected to spotlight practical pathways for climate resilience, clean energy transition, and inclusive economic growth.
During the summit, President Tinubu is scheduled to engage in high-level discussions on climate action, sustainable development strategies, and investment partnerships that support Nigeria’s national priorities.
He is expected to return to Nigeria upon the conclusion of the event later this week.
