APC hails Oborevwori’s leadership, infrastructure drive in Delta

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for his purposeful leadership and sustained delivery of major infrastructure projects across the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ruling party lauded the governor for presiding over the groundbreaking of the Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, on Monday.
The N59.7 billion project, awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, is expected to be completed within 14 months.
According to the APC, the flyover addresses long-standing safety concerns at a busy interchange notorious for accidents, fulfilling the long-held aspirations of Agbor and Ika residents.
Beyond local benefits, the project is of national significance, linking major routes across Nigeria’s East, West, North, and South-South regions, easing traffic congestion, enhancing security, and stimulating economic activity.
The party also noted that the flyover ceremony followed closely after the flag-off of the N39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli, with ongoing works at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout, and Enerhen Junction.
“Five flyovers are currently under construction across Delta State,” the APC said, highlighting the administration’s commitment to expanding urban infrastructure and improving living standards.
Beyond roads, the APC praised Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda—Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security—including interventions such as clearing pension backlogs, providing stipends for widows, MSME recapitalisation, enhanced funding for tertiary institutions, and acquisition of advanced hospital diagnostic equipment.
The party also acknowledged the governor’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that improved federal allocations have strengthened the state’s capacity to deliver dividends of democracy.
It recalled that in April 2025, Governor Oborevwori led the state’s entire PDP structure into the APC, inspiring other opposition leaders to support national economic reforms.
The Agbor groundbreaking drew dignitaries including Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme; former Governor and Renewed Hope Initiative Coordinator, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; the Dein of Agbor, His Royal Majesty Benjamin Ikechukwu, Keagborekuzi I; Rt. Hon. Victor Nwokolo (Ika Federal Constituency); APC National Publicity Secretary Barr. Felix Morka, CON; and several lawmakers and government officials. Hon. Jerry Ehiwarior, Executive Chairman of Ika South LGA, served as chief host.
The APC urged Governor Oborevwori to maintain his people-focused governance, praising the effective deployment of state resources in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda to benefit all Deltans.
