Fubara joins APC strategy committee to strengthen party unity

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Monday participated in the inaugural meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation, a high-powered body established to address internal disputes and emerging challenges within the party.

The committee, chaired by Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, brings together prominent APC governors, ministers, and political leaders.

Notable members include AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta).

Other distinguished participants comprise Senator Adamu Aliero, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari. Muiz Banire (SAN) serves as the committee’s Secretary.

At the committee’s inauguration in December, Governor Buni emphasised the body’s mission, stating that it would adopt strategic engagements and broad consultations to deliver inclusive and lasting solutions, ensuring that both long-standing and new members, especially those aggrieved, feel a renewed sense of belonging.

He further noted that the committee would take proactive measures to safeguard party unity, urging members to prioritise collective interests over personal ambitions.

Governor Fubara’s involvement is seen as a strategic move that enhances Rivers State’s influence within the APC, demonstrating the governor’s commitment to promoting cohesion and addressing internal challenges ahead of forthcoming political activities.
