3 construction workers injured as building collapses in Ondo

Three workers were hurt when a building under construction gave way on Tuesday in Akure, Ondo State.
The structure, located near the former APC State Secretariat on Oba Adesida Road, collapsed around 4 p.m., while construction activity was ongoing. One worker escaped without injury.
The injured were immediately taken to the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) for medical care, where they are reported to be responding to treatment.
A project supervisor, Opeyemi Adeyemo, attributed the incident to human error.
The state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sunday Olajide, confirmed that the construction site has been sealed off as authorities investigate the cause.
He added that the government will examine both the direct and underlying reasons behind the collapse to prevent future accidents.
