Gov. Siminalayi Fubara dissolves cabinet

Siminalayi Fubara has dissolved his entire cabinet with immediate effect, directing all political appointees to hand over their responsibilities to senior civil servants in their respective ministries.
The announcement was made Thursday evening via a statement signed by the governor’s newly appointed Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.
All Commissioners and Special Advisers were required to formally transfer duties to Permanent Secretaries or the most senior officers, pending further instructions.
Fubara expressed gratitude to the outgoing officials for their “immense contributions” and wished them success in their future endeavours, acknowledging their role in governance and administration.
The dissolution followed a recent closed-door meeting in Abuja with Bola Tinubu and Nyesom Wike, focused on addressing the lingering political crisis in Rivers State.
The state administration has not yet indicated when a new cabinet will be inaugurated.
