Channels TV mourns cameraman Kani Ben

Management and staff of Channels Television are grieving the loss of Bauchi bureau cameraman, Kani Ben, who died at 44.
He passed away at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, a week after sustaining injuries in a road accident while on official duty.
Kani was reportedly returning from covering a project commissioning by the North East Development Commission when the accident occurred.
For nine years, he served Channels Television with dedication, earning admiration for his professionalism and commitment to accurate storytelling.
The Bauchi State Government described his death as painful and heartbreaking, noting he died in active service.
Governor Bala Mohammed praised his courage and sense of duty, saying he remained devoted to informing Nigerians until his final days.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists in Bauchi also expressed solidarity with his family and colleagues during the difficult period.
Kani is survived by his wife and two children, leaving behind a legacy defined by integrity, humility and service.
Funeral prayers continue on Monday, while a wake would hold at the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria in Bauchi before his body departs for Adamawa State.
