All 2026 world cup matches sold out – Infantino

FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced that all 104 matches of the 2026 World Cup are officially sold out, despite tickets still being available ahead of the June 11 kickoff.

Speaking from Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Infantino said demand has been unprecedented, with 508 million ticket requests made in four weeks for seven million tickets worldwide.

Requests during the main sales phase in January came from more than 200 countries, reflecting football’s immense global appeal and the excitement surrounding the first 48-team World Cup.

Infantino acknowledged criticism over high ticket prices, noting that dynamic pricing and resale platforms in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico affect market costs.

He projected the tournament would generate over $11 billion in FIFA revenue, with every dollar reinvested in football across the organization’s 211 member associations.

The World Cup is expected to attract 20 to 30 million tourists and create 185,000 full-time jobs, boosting local economies through tourism, catering, and security investments.

FIFA hopes the tournament’s impact extends beyond the event, strengthening football infrastructure and fan engagement long after the final match on July 19.
