Nollywood star Mercy Johnson-Okojie appointed SA in Edo State Govt.

The Edo State Government has welcomed Nollywood actress and philanthropist, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, into its fold as the new Special Adviser on Public Engagement and Advocacy.
Governor Monday Okpebholo formally approved the appointment, signaling a strategic move to enhance citizen participation and policy awareness across the state.
The announcement was made public through a statement released on Thursday in Benin by Mr. Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government, confirming Johnson-Okojie’s new role in the administration.
Mercy Johnson-Okojie is widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished entertainers.
With a career spanning nearly twenty years, she has starred in over 200 films, earning her critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including honors from the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) among other distinguished industry platforms.
Her versatility and dedication have cemented her status as a leading figure in Nollywood.
Beyond her cinematic achievements, Johnson-Okojie has built a reputation as a committed advocate for social causes.
Through the Mercy Johnson Okojie Foundation, she has championed initiatives focused on empowering women, supporting children’s welfare, advancing educational opportunities, and providing healthcare outreach in underserved communities.
