Siminalayi Fubara pledges cooperation with all APC legislators

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has affirmed his readiness to work collaboratively with both senior legislators and newly elected members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The declaration comes in the wake of by-elections held on February 21, which saw Ukalikpe Napoleon secure the Ahoada East State Constituency II seat, while Loolo Bulabari Henrietta emerged victorious in Khana State Constituency II.

Describing their wins as “well deserved,” Governor Fubara emphasised that the results reflect the confidence and trust that constituents have placed in the elected representatives.

“It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes.

“I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state, ” he said.

The governor also commended residents of Ahoada East and Khana constituencies for maintaining peace throughout the electoral process, noting that the orderly conduct demonstrates the state’s democratic maturity.

Fubara’s comments followed a significant political development earlier this month, when the Rivers State House of Assembly suspended impeachment proceedings against him on February 19.

The move ended a prolonged rift between the governor and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who now serves as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

The political crisis had previously prompted a six-month emergency rule in the state.

Governor Fubara’s assurances signal a renewed focus on legislative collaboration, promising stability and forward momentum for Rivers State after months of political turbulence.
