Chelsea fined £10.75m, faces transfer restrictions

Chelsea Football Club has been hit with a £10.75 million fine by the Premier League and handed a conditional one-year transfer ban, suspended for two years.

The sanctions also included a nine-month transfer ban that applies specifically to academy signings, which takes effect immediately.

Under this restriction, Chelsea cannot register new youth players for the duration of the sanction.

The disciplinary measures followed regulatory breaches identified by the Premier League.

While the senior transfer ban will remain suspended unless further violations occur during the two-year probation period, the academy-specific ban imposes immediate limits on the club’s youth recruitment.

The fine is among the largest imposed on a Premier League club in recent years, intensifying scrutiny on Chelsea’s transfer and academy operations.
