Messi scores 900th career goal as Inter Miami exit CONCACAF champions cup

Lionel Messi reached the milestone of 900 career goals during Inter Miami’s 1-1 draw with Nashville SC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 on March 18, 2026.

Despite his early strike in the seventh minute, Miami were eliminated on away goals.

Messi, 38, has now scored:
672 goals for Barcelona
32 goals for Paris Saint-Germain
115 international goals for Argentina
81 goals for Inter Miami CF
Goal 900 came 21 years after his first senior goal for Barcelona in 2005.

Messi’s tally leaves him second only to Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 965 career goals.

Inter Miami also bid farewell to their Chase Stadium home, moving soon to a new 26,700-seat facility.

Messi’s contract with the club now runs through the end of 2028, and he is expected to play in his sixth World Cup later this year.

Former teammate and Miami manager Javier Mascherano described Messi’s 900-goal milestone as “insane,” highlighting his extraordinary career consistency and longevity.
