Nigerian mother, 2 children die in U.S. crash

A Nigerian mother, Nihinloluwa Agoro, and her two children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Fort Bend County on Sunday, March 15, 2026, as the family was travelling to church.

The cause of the accident has not been confirmed.

Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, calling it a “painful and tragic loss for any family.”

She described the deaths as “heartbreaking, especially during what should have been an ordinary journey” and extended her heartfelt condolences to the Agoro family.

In a statement released through NiDCOM’s spokesman, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa prayed for the repose of the deceased and comfort for the grieving family, while wishing a speedy recovery for anyone injured in the crash.

The NiDCOM chief also urged road users to exercise caution to prevent such tragedies, stressing her support for the Nigerian community in Texas and across the United States during this difficult time.

The accident has sent shockwaves through both local and diaspora communities, prompting calls for greater road safety awareness and vigilance.
