The directive affects all categories of political appointees aspiring to participate in party primaries or seek nomination for any elective office.

These include Commissioners, Advisers, Directors-General, Executive Assistants to the Governor, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Personal Assistants, and other political appointees across the state.

According to the statement, affected officials are required to submit formal resignation letters through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government by the stipulated deadline.

They are also expected to hand over responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary or the most senior career officer in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
