APC denies 2027 nomination form prices

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected reports claiming it has set prices for expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the information as false and misleading.

The report, which circulated widely on Friday, alleged that aspirants for the presidency would be required to pay N200 million for nomination forms, while those seeking seats in state assemblies would pay N20 million.

However, the party insisted that no such decision has been taken, distancing itself completely from the claims.

In a statement issued on Saturday, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka said the purported price list did not originate from the party and should be disregarded.

“The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a false and misleading report circulating in sections of the media regarding a purported ‘price list’ for expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 General Elections.

“The APC states categorically that the report is FAKE, and did not emanate from the Party,” Morka said.

He further clarified that the party had neither deliberated on nor approved any pricing structure for the 2027 election forms.

“To be clear, no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 elections,” he added, describing the report as “a mere figment of the writer’s mischievous imagination.”

The ruling party urged its members, media organisations, and the general public to ignore the report entirely.

Meanwhile, the APC recently concluded its 8th National Convention, where key members of its National Working Committee (NWC) were returned or elected through a consensus process ratified by delegates.

Among them is Nentawe Yilwatda, who emerged as national chairman, alongside Surajudeen Basiru as national secretary.

Morka also retained his role as publicity secretary, while Dayo Israel continued as youth leader.

The convention, held at Eagle Square in Abuja, drew prominent figures including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, lawmakers, governors, and other party stakeholders.

Speaking after his emergence, Yilwatda described his re-election as a renewed call to service, expressing appreciation to party members for their confidence in his leadership.
