Bird strike causes disruption in United Nigeria Airlines operations

United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has announced flight disruptions following a bird strike on one of the engines of its Airbus A320 aircraft.
According to the airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, the incident occurred during Flight UN0509 from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, scheduled for noon on Sunday.
Uloka stated that, ”in line with strict safety protocols, the affected aircraft has been withdrawn from service for a comprehensive inspection before returning to operations.
”This has led to some flights across the airline’s network being delayed or canceled.”
He assured passengers that the airline is working diligently to minimise disruptions and provide support to those affected, emphasising the airline’s commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
The airline expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused and appealed for the understanding and patience of travelers and the general public.
United Nigeria Airlines continues to monitor the situation closely and will update passengers on the resumption of normal flight operations.
