Mohammed emerges PDP national chairman

Abdulrahaman Mohammed has emerged as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s national convention held in Abuja on Sunday.
Mohammed and other new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were elected through consensus to lead the party for the next four years.
Members of the new NWC, as announced by the Chairman of the Convention Electoral Committee, Professor Sandy Onor, include Aaron Chukwuemeka as Deputy National Chairman (South) and Yusufu Akirikwen, SAN, as Deputy National Chairman (North).
Samuel Anyanwu emerged as National Secretary, with Kolawole Olabisi as Deputy National Secretary; Diran Odeyemi as National Treasurer and Lado Mark as Deputy National Treasurer.
Also elected are Eyim Henry as National Financial Secretary, Dr. Grema Kyari as Deputy National Financial Secretary; Umar Bature as National Organising Secretary and Efere Augustine as Deputy National Organising Secretary.
Other members of the new NWC include Jungudo Mohammed as National Publicity Secretary, Egwu Chidiebere as Deputy National Publicity Secretary; Kamaldeen Ajibade as National Legal Adviser and Aloysius Uba as Deputy National Legal Adviser.
Osuoha Donatus was elected National Auditor, with Dr. Adaba Yatu as Deputy National Auditor, while Prof. Ogunshe Adedayo emerged as National Woman Leader and Hauwa Shinge as Deputy National Woman Leader.
Also, Ibrahim Aboki emerged as National Youth Leader, with Momoh Bashir as Deputy National Youth Leader.
The e newly elected NWC members were immediately sworn in after their emergence.
In his acceptance speech, Mohammed pledged not to disappoint the party.
He also promised that the new NWC would work with the party leadership to promote unity and reposition the PDP for electoral victory in the 2027 general elections.
